Remember when creating your profile, less is more.  You want to stand out and be memorable without revealing too much.  Keep your essays short, punchy, playful and positive.  Give enough to make a quick connection, but not so much that you destroy the mystery.

Always some good pictures, flattering is good, accurate better.  Don't do out of date stuff, gets you nowhere down the line.  Smile in at least one, unless you never smile in real life.  You aren't moody all the time.  Even with a great physic  wear a shirt.  Please don't have pictures with an ex, opt for more current pictures.

Be real, readers are looking at your profile for accuracy on online dating review sites.  If you weren't the man in your profile, ya likely won't get a second date and perhaps some unflattering publicity.

When you try making contact, be friendly and refer to her profile.  Women get numerous messages a week from men saying, "Hi, how are you, want to meet me?"  This suggest laziness, sending the same message to a lot of women.  Playing the odds that one will answer.  Let her feel that you are interested in her, not desperate for a date.

Spell checking and good grammar is a good thing.

If she has questions, answer and be friendly.  After all you might want answers too.  There are usually two lanes in a road.

After the introduction ask to meet for coffee and talk to find out if you like one another.  Don't get into the email for months.  The longer you wait for the meet, the less likely it will happen.  Two weeks is max for emails.  If she refuses to meet, move on.
