Online Dating Service

A dating system is also known as online dating or internet dating, and allows singles, couples and groups to meet online and possibly develop a romantic or sexual relationship.  Internet dating services provide unmoderated matchmaking through the use of personal computers, the internet, or even cell phones.

Online dating services allow people to provide personal information, then search for other singles using criteria such as age range, gender and location.  Most dating sites allow members to upload photos of themselves and browse the photos of others.  Online dating sites offer other services, such as webcasts, online chat, and message boards.  Some dating sites have free registration, but require a fee monthly for other services.

Many dating sites are broad-based, with members from a variety of backgrounds looking for different types of relationships.   Some dating sites are specific, based on the type of members, interests, location or the type of relationship desired.

According to current trends, online dating won't soon pass into extinction,  yet it appears that  online dating is being dominated by a few large dating services.  It has been said that in 20 years the idea of someone looking for love, won't do so without a dating site or online dating, because it will be deem too inefficient.    Sounds like the idea of frog kissing, to find the prince is history.

Mobile dating websites are gaining market share.  This is the next big leap, if people want something someone will find a way to get it to them.

Online dating offers an opportunity using webcams to have a virtual date anywhere in the world, perhaps a Paris Cafe or Caribbean  Island,  without leaving home.
